Tarot Tales
A downloadable game
Tarot Tales is a setting creation engine for one or more storytellers, providing a quick framework for weaving webs of intrigue between a large cast of characters.
This tool is inspired by ensemble-cast murder mystery stories, like Death on the Nile, Murder on the Orient Express, and Knives Out, and is meant to be used as a worldbuilding supplement to tabletop role-playing games, such as Dungeons and Dragons, Apocalypse System games, etc.
It's designed to quickly give you a cast of archetypal characters with procedurally generated flaws and relationships, which you can reference when building an encounter.
All you need to play is a deck of Tarot cards (or two decks of regular playing cards), and something to write with.
This base game contains:
- The instructions for playing Tarot Tales
- The "Murder at Ludwoke Manor" setting, which gives you a plot synopsis and cast of characters
- The "Deadly Sins" Facet Pack, which gives each character procedurally-generated flaws and vices.
Settings and Facet Packs are meant to be interchangeable so you can flavor your experience exactly how you like, and I encourage you to create your own to mix and match with official assets - just throw a link to this base game into your project if you decide to create your own, I'd appreciate it.
